This is a picture of jackfruit tree in our garden at Chennai which yielded tasty fruits for the first time after planting it a decade back. The fruit takes 4 months to ripen fully and once ripe automatically comes off the branch.

This was my first embroidery on my own, when I was 17. Had it all along as a keepsake. The upper design is around the neck and the design below was done on the sleeves of my blouse.

I have a feeling that without sanghu and chakaram, i cant make a kolam !!! 
This middle lamp kollam is just 5X5, The first kolam my mother taught me when i was 6 years old for my school project, with days and years it has evolved with imagination.
This kollam dedicated to my mom amma, who makes simple and small designs but elegant as her.
She would be surprised when she visits this website entirely dedicated to kolam lovers and women who create magic on doorsteps.
Thanks you all for such wonderful designs.
P.S - My future mother-in-law is also a kolam expert ( heard that she is called by her neighbours as Kola mammi), by this year when i will get married will get more snaps of her designs. This one is also my fiances fav.

The day I got a new colour monitor (1999) I was tempted to draw and colour something so I used MS Paint and drew this cartoon of Mr & Mrs Mouse having dinner at a restaurant... I was so happy with the outcome and I'm glad that i was able to copy and preserve it... now I can share it with my ikolam friends too....

Lata this is my first computer rangoli.I don't know much about drawing of kolams in computer.I am learning from Pavan to work in photoshop.I just tried this one, your comments and suggestions welcomed
