iKolam members meet in Chennai...

My return to Bangaluru I have planned via Chennai to enable me to meet you all. So I want all your cooperation to make it a grand meeting.

and finally it is happening........ cant believe it... i am excited already... Lata thank you for connecting us... Jaya since most of us live in Vadapalani, T. Nagar, Arumbakkam and Anna Nagar in my opinion Tambaram would be too far away for all of us to come... why not meet somewhere inbetween... any suggestions friends?? all those who would be attending please tell us where you live and we will fix some place central for everyone... well i stay in Arumbakkam....

I am quite happy that rangOli enthusiasts are at last meeting. Thanks lakshmIjI
for remembering us. Even though we will not be there physically, we will be
wishing success of the meet. And then there is skype, if one wants to participate.
One or two suggestions - of course, everyone of you will be happy to aaociate a
face with the names you're all familiar. After that, may be you can discuss some
aspects of rangOli in detail. Some topics that readily come to my mind are -
materials, methodology and difficulties. In the materials, you may discuss about
the various materials that are necessary for this art - rangOli powder, paint,
natural ingredients, colour scheme, computer software, and how easily one can
obtain, etc. In the methods, the various ways of accomplishing the art such as
strokes, thickness (thinness), application of colour, colour combinations,
contrasts, computer creations, etc. Finally, each of you could discuss one kOlam
that was quite difficult even for you (accomplished artists that you are) and
discuss as to how you achived success. Most importantly, one of you (designated
quite in advance) can take ample notes of the proceedings and have it on paper
and inform all of us later as to what happened.

happy to know that we are all going to have a meeting.i will be free on saturday morning.my co sister pinky will also be attending the meeting.same day i have bala vikas class from 5pm to 6pm which i can't miss.so morning hours will be better for us. any place which is reachable to all.

Since majority want to have it in the city, esp Vadapalani, let's have it in Lakshmi's place. As per Sumathi's suggesion we can make it pot luck but we need to know others convenience for this!
Shall we have it on 28th March (Satuday) around 10am, so that, Bharthi won't miss her evening schedule?
Members please think over and confirm or come with alternatives within 24 hours so that we can proceed further with other arrangements. As Akilandeswari has plans to come all the way from Pondicherry we have to finalise at the earliest!
