Buddha Purnima falls on the 20th of May for the current year - 2008.

Buddha Jayanti (or Buddha Purnima) is the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. Lord Buddha is the founder of Buddhism. It falls on the full moon of the fourth lunar month (month of Vaisakh in the Indian calendar, either in April or May). On Buddha Jayanti, the buddhist monastries all over the world offer prayers and recitations of Buddhist scriptures at Buddha's altar throughout the day. People visit Buddhist temples/shrines and listen to the holy chantings, and also offer alms to the monks.

The remembering of the great peoples and important events of the day clubed with theme either drawing
or Rangolis is great idea, which we are sure will be remembered by the new generations as well give all of us new thought & energy.

The information u gave reg-BUDDHA POORNIMA was very nice.u could have given the famous verses of BUDDHA that is

BUDDHAM SARANAM GACHAAMI
DHARMAM SARANAM GACHAAMI
SANGHAM SARANAM GACHAAMI.
But idea was appreciable.
