A request...
ikolam is finding it hard to keep up with some of its highly enthusiatic members, whose rangolis run in double-digits, in the rangoli queue. In order to maintain some form of a balance in publishing all of our members' works, we would like to request the following busy bees to kindly postpone uploading more files until further notice. I can't tell you how uncomfortable this makes me feel. Please understand that, I'm posting such a request after having to deal with a few curt emails.

Thank you so much for sharing your work here, continuously.
Also, some of our members have uploaded pictures that are meant to be posted in the Cafe area. Cafe area is the place for (other themes) pictures like golu, decorations and such. Family pictures (which contain no rangoli images) should be posted in the cafe, so please go ahead and post them in cafe, even if you have already uploaded them in the rangoli queue. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and for taking the time to share other interesting aspects of your life.

We have plans to expand the "new rangolis" area to doubleup in space to show more. And comments section would be merged (no separate area for rangoli comments and cafe comments). There are a few more changes in our list, and they would be reflected on an ongoing basis. Regarding the space issue, there is space available for all, but, if you try to upload a file bigger than 2mb, it is not going to accept, leading you to believe that you are experiencing a lack of space issue. It is getting harder to respond to emails individually.

Ms.Sreegiri, I know you would be very surprised, but the count is 24. I think some files got duplicated too. We have atleast 5 members who have uploaded more than 22 rangolis (no duplicates). At present our software doesn't show the thumbnails/count of rangolis yet, so I know how difficult it must be for you and others. Sorry for the inconvenience.

And a nice blog it is too! But, I'm afraid I may not have the time to comment there. As you can see, I can barely keep up with our members works, and miss commenting on all of their works, sometimes. Also if I comment in your blog, I would've to repeat my comments on your rangolis when they get published here. Working in one's own blog does have its perks.

You can publish whenever you want, and even publish any number of rangolis at a time.

I can't believe this is getting worse. :0
Mrs.Vasanthidlr, I had already uploaded Preethi's bird, the one you had uploaded as kalamurugesan. So, please don't upload any more previous files under Vasanthidlr.

On second thoughts, Sudha, please save some of your best mehandi designs for March. I plan to run a mini contest (our first one for iMehandi) in the beginning of March. Just thought of letting you know a bit early.

Lata ma'am I am viewing the rangoli and comments after a bit of a hiatus.. yes I understand your predicament ... It is a very difficult job to manage a site and you being the lone person to do everything is really really a tiring job with all your other chores as well.. I would like to thank you for the efforts you take to make this site a better one and pls take your own time to download the kolams of all Ikolam members... I feel each one deserves to be on this page... I will not upload any more kolams until further notice from you... Thank you once again. Have a nice day

Hi lata, This is just a suggestion. There should be a history option in that there will be a track of uploaded rangolis so that it will be useful for the user as well as for yourself. if they have more than 5 rangolis in queue they need not upload further and also the user may not disturb you regarding the balance of rangolis in there respective accounts. Please look over to it so that it may help you out.
thanks and regards,
sudha

The best way to keep track of posted rangOlis is - As soon as a rangOli is uploaded, add it to a folder called "unpublished rangOlis". When the rangOli gets published, move it "published rangOlis". Simple!

Hi Sudha, the mehandi's and kolams are all sitting in the queue. I'll get to them whenever I'll find the time to work with them. If you want your mehandi to show up sooner, it is going to cost you US $5.00 per submission. You could send your payments to paypal@ikolam.com using paypal. As soon as I see the payment, I'll publish your mehandis/kolams.
Thank you.
